One of the oldest houses on campus, the Henry house serves to commemorate a Hobart graduate and true Genevan. Built in 1808, the Henry House has seen its fair share of inhabitants over the years, and even caught fire! From 1835 to 1936 the house saw five owners, including Hobart graduate David Max Henry and his wife. Max Henry founded his own insurance company, became a lifetime member of the Geneva Rotary Club, and remained active with Hobart alumni affairs. In 1975 Henry’s son, David Howe, felt this historic house should be maintained as a living memorial to his beloved mother and father.
